Trains and buses, when funded, are fine. Millions of people take them every day.
I work from home but I used to daily commute by train. Walk to station. Wait a few minutes. Get on. Arrive at destination. I read so many books and finished so many games.
I was curious so I tried to find average sizes in NYC. The Internet is full of slop and I hate it. anyway, I found
Average apartment sizes in NYC in 2026:
Studio: 400–550 sq ft (37–51 m²)
1-bedroom: 600–800 sq ft (56–74 m²)
2-bedroom: 850–1,100 sq ft (79–102 m²)
3-bedroom: 1,100–1,500 sq ft (102–139 m²)
But at least in the city you get a walkable living place with mass transit. Very few goats, however.

I'm sorry but there's a large body of evidence that many people in the US are deeply racist. Not always in a "wear a hooded costume" overt way, but in more polite and dressed up to look inoffensive ways as well.

Get rid of privately owned cars and you might be on to something. If the state owned a fleet of self driving cars you could rent at the car library, that would probably be better than everyone having their own car they park somewhere most of the time.
Building walkable living spaces with mass transit would be better for more people environmentally, economically, health-wise, socially...
Many people are weirdly helpless about computers. If you've ever tried to help someone with tech, you've probably encountered the

Recently my lead hypothesis is that many people would rather personally suffer and die if it means that black people have it worse. I read "dying of whiteness" recently, and it's haunting. "It's socialism" is just a coded way of expressing that.
I remember one time at a party, in my early 30s, some guy pops out "isn't love just a social construct?". Looked at him for a moment and said, "ok, I guess. And so?" but he didn't have anywhere to go with it.
It was memorable because we were all like whole ass adults, but he still came off as a 13 year old the whole time.
There's still going to be an opportunity cost. You can build massive renewable sources, but powering a data center with it is a shit use compared to other things.
It's things like this that make people say Luigi is a saint. There are people just clearly doing awful things with immunity, and there's no lawful mechanisms to deal with it.
