We have all interacted with tankies that act like that, but they were never going to vote anyways. For everyone else, not supporting a genocide is not asking for perfection. Characterizing it as such is only going to push those voters towards the tankies.

He said something to the effect that some politicians come to power through cynicism of the people and that the antidote is a politics that utilizes people's ability to act independently (or alternatively without coercion).
I mean it in the way that how we treat others is being reflected by how the government treats us. This article is a fine example of people acting like they don't need to listen to those they disagree with because they already figured out how the world works. I wish I could say I'm immune to this, I am not.
