I still have to check if it’s Beaverton, Onion or Private Eye nowadays . It’s satire ‘now’ but …
But is it really satire, or is it just very blunt reporting with a humorous writing style?
I honestly think if someone only read the Beaverton, they would be more politically savvy and well-informed than the average joe.
Back when I work in London the Private Eye was my go to for really on the nose satire. Ian Hislop just had a way with words especially on ‘Have I got new for you’. The couriers in the building usually came in the Big Issue which I then started pickup up from the Underground on a weekly bases. (Was like a small paper that funded the homeless, the guy selling at the time)
Nowadays living in Canada the Beaverton and Onion scratch the itch and I don’t think I could really bring myself to pickup a tabloid even if I knew what to get here in Quebec.
I'm not familiar with Beaverton and Private Eye as part of my core group of ~~journalism from the future~~ satirical news! Thanks for the heads up!
