Florida gubernatorial candidate James Fishback says his plan to visit every Waffle House in Florida to "meet voters where they are" has been derailed.

That's because he's been banned, he said.

In a release posted to X on Thursday, March 5, Fishback shared a statement saying that "this morning, Waffle House abruptly revoked our permission, and criminally trespassed us from all of their Florida locations."

Fishback, a Republican and one of 41 current candidates to replace outgoing Gov. Ron DeSantis, said he had previously received permission from Waffle House's corporate office to visit every location in Florida to "meet voters where they are."

Waffle House is as conservative as it gets. Like Hobby Lobby and Chik Fil A. For them to be this based and deny him means he is really problematic.

Or they just don't want political campaigning going on in their restaurants, and this chucklefuck is the only one who's tried.

Ill throw shit at hobby lobby and hate chicken because they are national chains and their owners views are abhorent. However, im not familiar with the views of Waffle House's owners, but their locations are almost entirely in the deep south. I dont expect anything worse than bog standard social ignorance from some of their owners and a policy to not wear politics in the office (thus this headline coming as a suprise), but please correct me if im wrong.

The memes about Waffle House along with a few other establishments are there because they never close, are in well traveled places and are desperation food. To quote someone else from the internet, "You dont go to a Denny's, you end up at a Denny's"
