The prime minister now needs two more Liberal MPs to reach 172 seats, which would give him a thin majority in the House of Commons. 

There are three upcoming byelections that could get Carney to that spot — depending on what voters decide.

This would have been my pick of the lot.

Two of those seats were liberal, and the liberals are now polling ahead of where they were in election season. So a majority is functionally guaranteed.

I try not to think of guarantees in politics, especially these days, but yes there’s a high likelihood of a majority.
