There have been total economic collapses every 10 years or so for my entire life.
No, there haven't. If you think the dot-com bust or the great recession were bad, you ain't seen nothin' yet!
Well then they should stop calling them “once in a lifetime” and just consider them part of capitalism
Those were recessions, not "total economic collapse"s, FYI.
Easy metrics:
Did the local fiat gutter into uselessness? No.
Did the banking industry evaporate? No.
How about the federal debt? Did that bankrupt the nation? No.
There's a time & place for hyperbole. This isn't either.
Most Americans have near zero knowledge of economics. They’re not thinking of those things, they’re thinking of 2008 happening again.
Ok, but the point isn't what "most Americans" think, it's your claim that multiple "total economic collapse"s occurred in your lifetime alone. 🤌🏼🤷🏽♂️😅
And according to most Americans it’s happened in theirs too. Because most Americans are idiots like me, especially when it comes to economics.
No worries, the system's working exactly as intended, neighbor. 🙇🏽♂️🖖🏽
That level of self-awareness puts you leagues ahead of most.
I know, right? It’s so sad.
