I prefer keeping as much of my income available as possible and then decide when and where to spend it, rather than having most of it tied up in monthly rates. More liquidity=more flexibility
The day has not come that I've found a subscription worth the monthly rate. A little off topic, but I even pay a bit more for my Internet bill so I can dump its ass on a whim if I like, and I use that daily (hourly). Canada has SUPER predatory telecoms, keeps them honest
I make made my telecom choices specifically avoiding the big three and their subsidiaries. Has served me well so far.
Yeah I was with Shaw before they got monopolized now I'm trying to eek my way out of Rogers (they've been kindly upping my bill monthly the last 3 months)
The best thing that ever happened to me cell phone-wise was Shaw being forced to sell Freedom. I've been with Freedom since they were Wind, and the only good thing that the Shaw ownership ever did was leave existing contract prices alone. I would have been extremely unhappy if Rogers had gotten their hands in Freedom.
