This scene is the only thing that I know about the entire live-action part of the franchise.
This is to me the weirdest thing that has been in a mainstream movie ever. I know people talk about it and also find it weird, but it's one thing i can't get over. There was no reason for it, they could make his daughter older or the guy younger. No problem at all. He could drive a car at 17. He could be a drift car driver at that age when he grew up in a race car family or whatever. He even turned out to be a nice guy as far as i remember. The point wasn't that he was sleazy or weird, the point was: see, pedophiles can be nice, and it's actuality legal sometimes. I get that that's the message that Americans want to put out there and Americans crave apparently. But there wasn't any pushback at all, and as far as i can tell, no one asked them what they were thinking and if they should raid nome hard drives
Its like how literally every time you post about how common pedos are or some specific statistic about assaults, you end up with dudes popping up to clarify the difference between the various kinds of pedos and point out deficiencies in the stats and stuff. Some dudes are REALLY invested in normalizing this shit.
They wanted to add a scene to the franchaise so weird and out of place and gross that you would forget that Sam and his parents talked about Sam's masturbation habits in the first movie.
Turns out the law on the card didn't apply to their situation anyway, so whoopsie, still rape.
It's a bit peculiar.
Actually, even the first couple were pretty weird with that one famous actress that was supposed to be like 16?
Idk guys, sometimes I worry we are the degenerates. Like you could totally make a transformers movie without negotiation of a minor girl's legal age of consent.
Just throw another explosion in instead.
I mean american movies are just like that and i got so used to tge 30 year old playing a 16 year old that i don't even clock it as weird anymore. I hate the whole: "put a hot chick in the movie for the dudes" thing. But it's extra sad that that's also how some guys work. Yeah i watched that movie, there is a hot chick in it. I have no idea how someone can say that and not feel pathetic as fuck
That actually happens in the movie?
Yep, and its played totally straight with a character that is not supposed to come off as a creep. Like, they put this in apparently for no reason other than to normalize this kind of activity.
I mean, the ENTIRE movie is right wing propaganda, so the fact that this is in there really kinda makes sense in that light, but it was still a weird choice.
It certainly does.
Just like the rest of the movie, the scene doesn’t make any sense.
Yeah someone screenshot it and its like the whole law on the card
I got you, and yeah, its fucking bizzare.
