I would fulfill my legal obligation by reporting that cash as missing to the police, if not claimed I get to legally keep it (the only reason why I would do this is because that sort of money tends to come with severe problems)

Hell no in that case I aint taking the money. If a cop left a wallet with that much money its probably because they're running some sick prank to try to get some poor soul arrested.

I think he meant cops are not honest and will just pocket the money themselves instead of looking for the owner
