I am down with that, I'll stand with all the productive blue states, GOP Nazis can take the bible belt and Southern 'confederacy'.
I'll happily trade houses with someone in the West who wants to join their conservative bretheren.
Pretty sure they're going to form super states like post Soviet countries, weaken the remaining union as much as they can, and then send national guard from super states to invade blue states.
Fuck man, I'm in the middle of all that fucking bible belt out. you'll have a lot of us trying to get the hell out.
Honestly, we still are now.
Right? Guess we don't matter? Except if we leave, the random queer and neurospicy kids grow up with 0 examples and are completly PTSD'ed even if they do make it out.
Sounds great. /s
Too many people still intuit that people they percieve as stupid will produce inferior offspring. We're more like apple trees
There are a lot of things can't be cut out of nature by humans even with crispr. There's a lot of emergence, and odds.
The first and last 6 minutes of Idiocracy need to be reshot to demo the effect of chronic poverty on human development instead of Eugenics "dumb ppl make dumb ppl like disney boygirl offspring looks like parents". All that environmental and emotional and nutritional neglect add up to medical grade damage for everyone, in diverse effect.
I don't disagree with that, but more to the point I was putting is there's going to be a fast refugee crisis for the blue states for those of us that see the writing on the wall if the states fracture.
I'll be honest... I HOPE I'm wrong... god I fucking hope I am... but I'm not seeing a "United States" being the case much longer after this administration. Partly being one living in this area... I do not see how we come back... there is no middle ground left.
There hasn't been that much real middle ground for a long time.
If the usa takes a hard left, and mean citizen occupation -- only a few useful people are running for typical election -- this fall coming next spring, we may trade a full blown, unchecked, fascism for a messy reconstruction.
Basicaly we may get a second chance to NOT DROP THE BALL on reconstruction, like after the civil war. (tl;dr Jim Crow won, with redline icing on top)
If fraudulent finance is still on control at capitals the coming summer, the evil will be entrenched, and it will be a lot more blood and ashes before we make it to warcrimes trials.
Sorry. I traded almost all my hope for scholarship. But I keep the kettle fresh, and sometimes the oil lasts an extra day, even if it's mere luck of helpful weather.
I also gave up on leaving and joined all the queer and smart clubs around. I try visit the metro to soak uo queer friendly culture regularly. Not like me leaving would fix anything. Not really even for muself, as hard as it is to make a relocation stick if you're not wealthy. And I like the biome I'm in anyway.
It would mean they get the means of food production.
