- No memes, trolling, misinformation, or low-effort posts/comments (including reposts). If you see posts like this that anger you, do not engage. Report, block, and live a happier life than they do. Any slap-fight is subject to comment removals. Fights full of rule violations will result in temporary bans to cool off.
- No manipulating votes via bots or alt accounts; this will result in permanent bans. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in an account ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be permanently banned.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules and use critical thinking when reading, posting, and commenting. Users that repeatedly have comments or posts removed, weaponize reports, or violate the code of conduct, will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. Sigh. I'm not sure who irritates me more - the dumbass Karens that were having meltdowns over social distancing and masks (and then later, the vaccine) or people still talking about "woke" unironically.
Not even, they are selling these appointments, the president is. It's all for sale. Other qualifications exist, but they are paying I bet you.

They make a lot of money from those jobs in this new gangster run america unforuntaltey. This is like monarchial europe in a way, or the old popeships where the pope played everyone as the whoremaster of rome.
They do now make off well from these payments, but you are correct in the future they may not.
I'm a Navy veteran with service connected PTSD. People question if I have PTSD sometimes and it does indeed piss me off, but I'm not out here claiming to have been blown up while serving. People are starting to become aware that PTSD doesn't always stem from combat, and that awareness will help more people going forward. Mine comes from being attacked and raped by my shipmates, I didn't expect to survive it.
I don't feel disgust that USA Today asked him about his service, instead I wonder why he didn't have a better response. He could have offered education about PTSD or said he wanted to increase transparency around disability ratings in the VA, or any number of things.

I think so, too. This is why it's important to talk about non-combat PTSD. So more people get the help they need, and there's less stigma around it.
That's exactly it. If it is PTSD, he should talk about that. He's talking about physical scars, so it's hard to parse.
I'm really sorry about the PTSD, especially the cause. I hope the help you're getting is beneficial. IME, people who haven't been exposed to mental health issues, can be really stupid about them.
Yeah I'm sure those veterans will totally defend his stolen valor. I hear they enjoy that. I've found that people who like to brag about combat have never seen it.
