Right, lay down. That's what some of the largest protests in united states' history are. Protests that are getting larger by the month. "Laying down".
You aren't in any position to criticise, keyboard warrior.
Not just some of the largest, the largest. No Kings makes up the top three
I think a lot of people don't realize just how gigantic the US is and how much of a logistical nightmare it is to organize nation wide things, and how relatively little small groups of people can do to the federal government
The criticism of not starting soon enough is valid; this kind of mass action should have happened earlier. But it is happening now and people like the mentioned keyboard warrior dismissing that are hindering not helping
Complications to organize are part of the problem too. We need people who devote themselves to enabling protestors, organizing alliances, … people who are able to get online like Anonymous did back in the day, using voice transpositions and face masks, making threats to do some wild shit if need be. Do you guys remember when Anonymous made threats to shut down the internet if a bill got passed?
We barely need people to coordinate explicitly. Anonymous is actually a pretty good example, now that I think about it. They were completely unorganized. You were Anonymous if you claimed to be Anonymous. You made demands from the shadows, executed plans in secrecy, and claimed credit again from the shadows. People see this and catch on, eventually mimicking your framework under the same name “Anonymous.”
Earth Day, 1970, 20 million. Latest No Kings was 8 million. But still, No Kings accounts for 3 of the top 4.
As to starting earlier, you said yourself it's a logistical nightmare. I would argue people got organised PDQ, all things considered.
The problem with all your American bullshit is that it leaks out into the rest of the world and fucks it up too.
Yes, collateral damage is to be expected when a superpower gets destabilised. Why are you ignoring the fact that there was documented election interference on a massive scale? Why are you ignoring the total takeover of our government by hostile actors? Are you trying to paper over all of that for some particular purpose?
Moreover, you're mostly addressing the victims of the fascists here. We're not actually in charge of the country right now.
Oh, I'll just post a million word essay enumerating everything wrong with the USA.
Or you could stop doing the work of the fascists, but I think you like the kool-aid too much for that. Feels good talking down to people being killed for resisting, does it? You're as bad as the people you claim to hate, you just can't see it.
Don't worry, most people grow into empathy eventually, we all develop at different rates.
Yawn.
Aw, I understand, you've had your warm milk and now it's nap time. Kiddos need their sleep!
Ad hominem.
In girum imus nocte et consumimur igni
Maybe it's time for you Muricans to stop protesting the Murican way and learn a little bit from 1, your own history circa 250 years ago 2, french history from roughly the same period
No, it's not time, yet.
What amateur foreign "advisors" don't understand is that we have at least two important Constutional checkpoints to get through first - the 2026 Midterm Election, and the 2028 Presidential Election. Those are our final two opportunities to turn this nation around, and ALL indications are that they will go the right way, and with courage and decisive action from our elected leaders, we can still save America. We owe our nation, our Constitution, and our history, to do this properly, by the book.
But that's a big "IF." MAGA will make sure it doesn't go smoothly, and cause as much trouble as they can. They will do literally anything to remain in power, including cancelling elections. We have NEVER cancelled an election and n this country, not during WWII, not even during the Civil War. That is a BRIGHT RED LINE that they cannot cross. If they attempt to cancel elections, it's INSTANT Civil War.
So we will try to do it by the book, and let our elections do the talking, but MAGA is the world's greatest chaos agent, and they will definitely make it difficult. No matter what they attempt, we must stay on the legal Constutional path until that journey is either completed or forcibly removed.
Very, very interesting that you're advocating for civil war. I wonder whose interests that could possibly serve.
When tyrants don't leave on their own accord, what are you to do? Protest even harder while they laugh from their helicopters and private jets, surrounded by private security, isolating themselves from the people they try to rule? What good will protesting harder do?
The protests have grown by a million people with every event, give or take. They show the people who have a problem with this shit that they're not alone, and more and more people have a problem with all this. The protests show the people in power right now that we are not going to lay down and take it, like you lot want to keep saying we are.
And, what does protesting actually accomplish? In Nazi Germany, it got 1,800 Jewish prisoners released: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosenstrasse_protest
So if you really want these fuckers gone as badly as the rest of us, how about you take your defeatist crap and keep it at home with you? It's not helping anyone except the fascists.
Not sure the French Revolution is the best example given what happened immediately afterwards
