I'd say it wasn't about "women shopping bad" but the amount of men clothing's in stores is borderline boring in comparison.

Women get 58382992 items in 2838473 colorful combinations, we got 3 pair of pants in black or lighter black. Slightly exaggerated maybe.

Men get navy as well! (Slightly blue black.)

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 weeks ago

I don't know in what fantasyland you live, but there's no such thing as blue...tsk...poser!

Men’s clothing section, in most retail stores, looks more like a walking marketing billboard with the companies logos plastered all over the front and back.

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago

lol. yes. The worst. Never understood that stupidity to run around like that. Only poor people pay good prices for shitty things with logos, still made with slave-labour. But they try to NOT look poor and achieve the opposite :-) The real good stuff has no labels. You know where you bought it, you know who made it.

thrift stores, discount racks, and nordstrom's discount store is where i find interesting fabrics that no one else is buying.

Pros: you find interesting fabrics
Cons: you might end up dressing like me

make of that what you will

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

lol. dunno what nordstrom is, but yes. I found many cool stuff in 2nd-hand-stores. But there the same pattern applies btw. 97% women, 2% men, 1% whatever :) Though i often try to not shop there, as I feel kinda bad buying things others would need more.

Nordstrom is a rich people mall store in statesia. If you live in the states and have larger than DD cups, you probably have to shop there for bras if you don't buy online. I like their fabrics but cannot afford them. They have a discount store that sometimes has decent prices called the rack

Neither live in the US nor shop for bras. As a male, this is kinda boring except for gifting :-) But I'd bet there are equally good bras elsewhere for decent bucks. Quality sure comes at a price, but it doesn't have to be expensive.

They had a nice jacket I regret not buying, but I ain't got 700 in jacket moneys. It was so pretty tho

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That's a lot for a silly jacket. I'm a very cheap cheapskate and this would be a big nono. But if quality is equal to the price then maybe...if one has it to spent...though I would prefer to invest 650 and get one for 50 😁

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It was really pretty. I have been looking for one its equal for, uh, ten years or so. Maybe longer I can't remember I'm very grumpy I haven't found it in a thrift store yet.

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Understandably. If one finally finds "the one thing" and then can't have it and never finds something like that again is....frustrating 😁

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I even have photographs of the label and everything. Papa taught all us shitheads how to document. Also to get receipts everywhere you go, but do jack shit with them (makes you look like a businessman)

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

Well, it should be, but the dude just sits down at the fire. I don't see him looking at that shirt, looking around at the women's options and throwing his hands up asking where the rest of the men's section is, and if they have these pants in under size 40 like I would be.
