Maybe being in Early Access is why I behave differently with Subnautica 2. I manually save and then exit without saving because, illogically, "I remember exaCtlY wHAt I was dOing at the moment I manually saved, but who knows what the Save & Exit option will do to my saves list without my permission, or where it'll drop me upon loading as compared to loading my manual save."
And yet I affirm that every single time I go to load a save, there's an identical non-manual save parked right above my actual manual save. Can't tell if it's an actual separate autosave or just a duplicated view of my manual save, though occasionally I notice two different time stamps (I assume from unsaved Exits I performed when drowning) and my brain says "AHAA! Not catching ME slacking" as I proudly load the manual save.
Just dumb fun brain arguments that only persist because I'm not hurting anyone (else).
