I have met one Christian who truly respects those outside of his religion. He doesn't believe those people are misguided or unethical, and honestly meets everyone where they're at spiritually or otherwise. I respect that person. Funny that a religion that preaches such things as the highest priority can have so few examples of people following that mantra that the religion as a whole is known far and wide for the exact opposite behavior.
You should try harder to be like that Christian.
Just because I have respect for that Christian doesn't mean I agree with him. I don't judge people what they believe, but I certainly judge them for how they act, and it just so happens that the people who act the worst I've seen are also those who claim to be justified because of their religion.
Good people can be good in spite of their religion, so I can't say that all religious people are bad, but bad people can be so much worse when they have their religion to fall back on, so I can certainly say that religion is currently harming society.
