Edited for clarity. I mean that nothing about Tesla's valuation makes sense without them being first to market with self driving, and also some time/ runway to have first mover advantage. Its a valuation famously detached from reality.
And they aren't. From what I've heard their self-driving is bogus, which is also the target of the article.
I think by now if you're still holding TSLA and aren't an index tracker, you've drunk the kool-aid and very little is going to shake you out of it.
From what I understand Tesla is a car company only on the eye of us, in paper Tesla are spyware in wheel and that’s from where the money comes from
It makes sense when you see Teslas for what they are. They are a status symbol. They represent apartheid, colonialism, oligarchy, child exploitation and genocide. Whenever you see someone driving one, they are proudly stating that is what they support. The more they show support for those things without consequence signals it is open season for exploitation. Now we have an entire financial system built on exploitation. So when you see a high valuation for a company that makes it their symbol, it means the system would not exist without those ideas.
Thats become clear over time. I dont think your assertion is reasonable. Lots of people bought them because they were cool cars that were about to be self driven, and Elon's nuttery and douchebaggery became clear only a few years ago.
You still have a Tesla, huh? Did you just wake up to Elon's douchery yesterday? You'd have to be driving around a Tesla that you've owned for over 8 years to not have known at the time you got it. That would put you into a small category of maybe 5%, but let's say 10% to be safe, of all Tesla owners. If the odds are 9 out of 10 owners are Nazi supporters, but you say you can't say any are cause one might not be.. well, sucks to be you cause Tesla owners are Nazi supporters. If you afforded a Tesla, you can trade it for something else that isn't the symbol of a Nazi supporter.
Well. yeah. I do. And when i bought it in 2021 I knew he was a spoiled douche from his thai cave rescue incident and his denial of vaccines, but I didnt appreciate the bottomless douchery that became more clear since then with his participation of politics that came about in 2022 when he acquired twitter. Or his nazi stuff.
Rich douches I get. Politically interfering rich douches is where it triggers warnings in my head. so yeah. It was a mixture of my not paying attention and not seeing his arc inevitably going into politics. I regret buying it. To be fair its been a good car, once you get used to vastly lowered expectations of it not being full self driving, which is why I bought it. I'm older and dont know how long I can keep driving myself. So I suppose I was highly biased to trust. Not driving is going to suck. I live in a swampy climate.
No. Lots of people bought them before it became public known what a shitshow Musk is. They bought them because they wanted to limit their environmental impact, the cars were fairly cheap (with the tax credit), and they had a new tech cool factor.
Now their valuation is in flux and people don't want to buy them for multiple reasons including all the bad shit you listed, but let's be real here, they can't sell it for an equivalent vehicle and a lot of people don't have the money to go without transportation for work or school to make a political statement.
If you buy a Tesla now? Yeah. I'd agree you're cosigning all that bad shit. But there's lot of people still driving them who can't afford to just buy another vehicle who didn't know and aren't doing that.
Thanks!
