Can I tell you a secret?
Once upon a few years ago, I was on the development team for Mlem. The whole idea was to develop a replacement app for Apollo (the famous Reddit app) but for Lemmy. FOSS and better.
As the UX designer, putting this little feature in was my idea. I’m glad they stuck with it.
Sadly, I couldn’t stay with the project for very long. But seeing that cake day icon, and a couple of other little ideas of mine here and there, make me happy when I use the app.
So, no, Apple doesn’t get credit for this one.
