The real question is how we are going to learn that this is really Biden's fault, because poor little Pumpkinhead was handed the "worst economy ever", etc....

Even if if was an economy that was the envy of the world.

Trump has been trying to clean up Biden's mess but he left the economy in shambles. That is what Demonrats do, everytime they get in power they run up the deficit by giving undeserving immigrants hard working American's paychecks. It takes years to undo this damage and Trump and his crack team are doing everything they can.

Something disconnected and stupid like that.

European here. I don't think I've ever met a single person (aside from Americans) who expressed a sentiment similar to the US economy being "the envy of the world."

It was a phrase being used in several publications around the time as well as the IMF? I think they got it from data comparing various first-world economies and their economic recovery rates from Covid.

The vibes at the time within the U.S.? You'd think that all economic indicators sucked or something, which was....just not true. I use the phrase to mock the idiotic right wing that acts like the economy was terrible under Biden as well as the reactionary centrists that take their cues from the right wing as well.

I guess the IMF missed the ongoing devastating health care crisis, high violent crime rates, poor social mobility (partially due to incomplete desegregation), few vacation days and barely any parental leave, obesity rates, opioid epidemic, etc. etc.

I don't know anyone who envies much of anything about the U.S., but it does seem like every time we cause the world economy to shit the bed, our billionaires seem to be ok before your billionaires are.

So, maybe those are the people who envy the U.S.
