I mean, we did get those two specifically, it's called a laundry machine and a dishwasher.

that being said, yeah, can we get rid of scarcity and automate the hard shit first

Laundry machines and dishwashers are still some of the highest manual labor required as far as home appliances go. Load, unload, fold, put away,, clean the lint trap, etc.

Compared to a robot vac that just does it's thing on a schedule while you occasionally empty it's dock and clean the filters, it's not nearly as 'automated'.

Are you in the US? I've only ever heard it called a washing machine or washer. I have never heard laundry machine and so I wondered if it was regional somewhere here that I was unaware of.

I am in a headspace called 12 am in Hong Kong when I wrote that comment and having read the words "do my laundry", we call it a washing machine here too, i'm just dumb

We're saying the same in germany. In German, obviously, but still washing mashine (Waschmaschine).
