Its both. Seen the price of HDDs lately? They've tripled since last year. All a plan so you can own nothing. Capitalism end game.
Hard drives have gone up, but far from tripled.
Solid state drives have about doubled, tripled if you’re looking for new high end Samsung drives.
RAM was hit the hardest.
