Nah we’d be a “protectorate” like Guam, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands. Plus a neverending insurgency for good measure. 🖕🇺🇸♾️
I actually think he means statehood, since he very noticeably never offered it to the less-traditionally-white nation of Greenland.
It's still a booby deal in several other ways.
