Back in the good old days, the number was next to the battery, and it was bigger. Then they updated the software and shrunk the number down to fit it in the battery.
I definitely still have that. Battery sitting upright and the number next to it. This is stock Android 15 I believe.
I'm on Android 16. They changed it in update 16.QPR1, released September 2025. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history#Android_16

My OnePlus has all the options available. Just battery, number on the side just number , number inside the battery and vertical battery.
shame that OnePlus just left US market. We have no android phones here anymore other than Samsung, google which I hate and Motorola - but they don't see any flagship models.
