I'm not entirely convinced that Google and Microsoft are Elrond in this particular issue .. or that uBlock Origin is the one ring .. it feels like this meme is something Sauron would push to make people think the good guys are bad guys ..

Yeah, this is definitely a misuse of the meme.

Every story has two sides, and unfortunately the victor often writes the first history. However I do encourage reading the real LOTR story as told in the last ringbearer.
