U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an order directing the interior secretary to rename Lake Ontario to "Lake America" as Canada trade war persists.

Trump cannot force Canada to follow his preferred naming convention, however.

The move is reminiscent of his move last year to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America."

Just checked, Google Maps still calling it Lake Ontario.

But this is just the ammunition Vance needs to dethrone Trump after the mid-terms. "Rome burns while Nero fiddles’.

Not only are Trump’s antics the laughing stock in Canada, the laughter is spreading into America as well. Why is Trump throwing a hissy fit over the name of a Lake when the American economy is crumbing? This is his top priority?

It won’t take much for Vance to question Trump’s mental health and fitness for office when he is ready to act.

The American polls are against Trump on this issue. Just under 4 in five (79%) of Americans have a favorable impression of Canada. They may not be following the trade talks, but this message was directed at Americans, and it is hard for them to miss. Why is Trump so visibly trash-talking Canada? It has absolutely no political up side, with no hope it will be favorable to those Republicans who are facing Senate and House elections in three months. The more that Republicans distance themselves from Trump, the easier it is for Vance.

I have a feeling Vance is gonna wait until after the midterms and pull the 25th amendment card. If he does it before the midterms he can only serve 1.5 terms (if he were to win a general election), vs 2.5 terms if he waits until after.
