Telus has called me like 5 times over this summer, trying to get me to switch after trying them once last year. Despite their claims, coverage here is not what they say it is. They promised me a 30-day free trial with their SIMs, then still charged me a month. Then had the gall to keep calling me. Infuriating.

I heard a saying "a shower of bastards", and I think that describe Telus

Strangely though their business fibre 1GB symmetric internet is pretty great. Totally different division, I presume. Telus business fibre offers up to 5 static IPs, something Shaw/Rogers still won't offer for a reasonable price if at all to residential addresses, AFAIK.

So what provider are you using now? Ive been between Rogers, its subs, and Freedom but none are perfect.

Currently. Rogers has been slowly increasing my bills every 4months by $5 and its really annoying so I'm looking for a new provider.

The big issue is none offer what I need: low data like 10GB or less and a cheap monthly. These $60 plans for 100GB of dara arent for me

For now I'm staying with Fido (Rogers). We're on the ~$65/mo 150 GB or whatever, but yeah it keeps creeping up. Such a lack of viable choice in Canada. :(

FYI in regards to coverage -- eastern coast of Vancouver Island. Rogers/FIDO seems to have better voice/data once one is out of the main townsite, important for hiking and camping. I believe Telus/Bell has better coverage on the west side (Tofino/Ucluelet) but that is just my memory from a few years ago, may have changed since then.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, the choices are terrible. I'm in ON so the coverage is decent but it has its spotty areas too. But even with Rogers I've experienced it so there's no perfect solution.

$65/month is way too high IMO. The only reason I'm still with Rogers is because using their mastercard pays for the phones easily.

God I don't miss cell service costs back home. Moved to the UK in 2020, and the costs have gone up some, but I'm still only paying £25 for 300gb/month.

Still higher than what I want to pay because I don't need 300GB of data but yeah, thats WAY more proportionately priced.

Oh definitely. I opted for this package because we were waiting for our internet to get hooked up, so I was hotspotting basically my whole household. Just never got around to downgrading. And still some months I nearly use ⅔ of my cap!
