They actually have a coherent platform. Go look at it. The DSA-backed guys like Mamdani are doing good stuff.
Meanwhile, the dems platform mainly consists of orange man bad, while ignoring polling that shows most Americans want universal health coverage , not the half-assed public/private ACA nonsense that fails to keep healthcare prices in check, while continuing to allow the insurance industry to profit off something that is a basic human right.
You have centrist democrats in battleground and red states resisting climate change timelines when nearly two-thirds of Americans want climate change addressed.
Meanwhile, you have the DSA proposing really good stuff, like eliminating the senate to get rid of disproportionate representation of red states with small populations, who have also gerrymandered the heck out of the electoral map to gain further advantage and shut out the power of a majority vote.
If you don’t want progressives to run a coup within the Dem ranks, then actually use a good platform 🤷♂️ They’re the ones trying to get rid of the corprocrats.
I have. It's in line with their Marxist-Leninist ideology. Has the greatest hits like:
Mamdani is alright. But especially in the beginning, people glaze him for things he didn't have anything to do with, or that's just part of the job that any mayor would have done. Stuff like "balancing the budget", tiktoks about potholes being filled after tweeting at him, childcare expansion, transit upgrades, etc.
But that's part of the vanguard party strategy. Sell the "see, we're not so bad, we just want healthcare and free busses lol" narrative to garner populist support.

But your source says "35% of all adults favor a single national health insurance system run by the government."?
And yet Biden passed the largest climate and clean-energy legislation ever in US history during his term. Didn't get much media attention for some reason...
And how is that position reflecting in the polls? Is it looking likely to swing any elections?
The vast majority of the positions these DSA-backed candidates hold that resonate with the voter base are pretty well in line with the general positions of the Democratic party at large. But they serve it up with a healthy dose of "fuck the system, man" and people lap it up.
Meanwhile, look at the disaster that was Graham Platner. Apparently they're cool with a nazi mercenary rapist so long as he isn't a gasp establishment dem.
And then you have their unhinged pundits, who AES chose to campaign with, and refuses to strongly condemn for their behavior like saying America deserved 9/11, cheering on terrorist attacks, platforming terrorists, etc. Now their even starting to call for violence against liberals for being anti-DSA. All of which is being used by Republicans as free easy ammo to smear the whole party.
I want all the “extreme stuff” though.
You what’s extreme? Valuing money and property over human life. Capitalism will always degenerate and lead to alienation and social degeneration of the working class in favor of the capitalist class. Money is the root of all evil.
They are transparent about their beliefs. The working class absolutely needs to seize power and put the capitalist class under their thumb. Lest we become a fat, lazy nation dying from heat stroke in an Amazon warehouse while AI takes over most jobs. Don’t think for a second whether they care that you live or die. And they bought off the majority of our government.
