Backflip seems like a stretch from what the article says. But when Googles policies have me seriously considering if avoiding the walled garden was worth it, its a pretty unfortunate slip that says a lot about what Apple's leadership is thinking.

I think we've all seen the enshitification playbook enough to know "accept or not now" just means its a matter of time before its not an option.
