I'd been saying BIOS for decades before UEFI became the norm. Yes, I know it's no longer BIOS. No, I don't care. As far as I am concerned, anyone pedantic enough to nitpick about it is doing me a favor. They are identifying themselves as someone I don't want to be around.
When it does matter, my pronunciation is "you-fee"
For a while, they really were both. From that same UI, you choose for it to function as a legacy BIOS or a modern UEFI, and not just a CSM option. It probably ran UEFI underneath, but it's not something that's a clear cutover. This was around 1st Gen Intel Core, and might've been limited to Intel motherboards.

Ya, I treat that the same way. If it really matters, I know the difference and can use the correct one as needed. It's far more often that the difference doesn't matter and the only reason to use Gibibyte is for the "look at me, I'm trying to sound smart" effect. Yup, marketers fucked up gigabyte/megabyte/etc. But It's close enough for most conversations.
GiB and TiB only exist because advertisers suck.
