Honestly ever since the US has gone psycho it's shaken the legitimacy of fiat for me (just a little). Bitcoin has it's own contradictory state of being a currency but also an asset, but at least it's not tied to any one country.

It's now quite heavily tied to China, where most mining happens because of cheap hardware and electricity.

That makes sense but this seems like the best we'll ever get. There's always gonna be a try hard group trying to amass as much of something of value as possible, nothing is perfect. But I'm also morbidly curious to see what crypto's role will be in the AI bubble pop and if it'll be a positive or negative thing. I guess we gotta stay tuned for that episode.
