Dude I'm 26 and got to smell the dying drag of that era. It doesn't smell nearly as much like cigarettes, at least in my neck of the woods in SoCal don't know how much the Finns or Franks smoke so mayhaps it's different elsewhere.

I've got a dozen years on you and you're lucky to have only caught the tail end of it. I had to put up with the whole world smelling until I was 18.
