Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).
Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

hahaha no problem, bit of a GWA vet myself (used to post, will not be sharing my old username :P)
also, oddly? Always happy to talk about porn lmao
GWA? I'm sorry...gamer with attitude? 😂
ALWAYS
Not joking. Here. DMs. Matrix. Don't care. Please, moar porn talk 🙏
(my Matrix username is literally horny_miisha so that would be pretty fitting 😭)
hahaha GWA was the gonewildaudio subreddit, but i dumped my reddit accounts on the first exodus
uh...truth be told I'm a biiit of an exhibitionist and quite enjoy recording myself 😅
and same, DMs are always open. Always love new friends.
Aha, didn't know what GWA meant, thanks!
Exhibitionism is good tho :3
Recording yourself...damn 🤭
If I had done literally any voice training at all, I'd probably be doing the same, lol
Hahaha! I have very little voice training, I just am bi and am attracted to my own voice - I am also aware of how vain that sounds 😅
I did do some theatre in uni so there is that!
No shame in that! At least someone here is okay with their voice...
Theater is cool af, omfg. Love it 💜
Hahaha, well I do feel like a lot of building confidence is just desensitizing yourself to your own voice, over time your brain has a way of...I guess, reconciling the voice you hear in a recording to the voice you hear in your head, like your interpretation of the sound gains context over time? Idk if my wording makes sense, I am stoned 😅
Also theatre was an absolute blast, I didn't act much, but I am okay, I was way more on the set-building and light-installing/operating side
Hey, leave some for the rest of us :3
I fucking hate my voice. I legit just can't record myself. I hate it so much...
Theater sounds amazing! 💜
hahaha I'm Canadian, so i have LOTS lmao
and awwe, I haven't heard your voice but I am sure it is just lovely.
Rigth back at you! :3
It's legal here too, I just can't find a source and my bf won't let me do any gardening 😭
Also...just no. My voice sucks ass.
But...there is a person on Lemmy that has heard it before...if you really wanted to, you could ask him...I'll tell you who, if you want :3
it's ok! I'll respect your privacy :)
and thats a shame, rude- ass bf lmao
Not even the voice I hear sounds like the voice in my head. (Not that it bothers me, but they are two things for me)
