Brainwashing and propaganda to sell internally. He's preping all americans to hate everything that is outside of them and to blame on those pesky other bad countries. He's basically ensuring he has enough bodies to use for war.
I see these countries building their trade with counties other than the US as the only good part of Trump's tarrif tantrums. Less reliance on the US is better for everyone, even the US. Because it will force us (I am American) to have to participate globally without the strong arming bullshit we have always relied upon. It will force us to actually work with others.
