A quote by Robert E Howard's fictitious character. His parents slaughtered before him. Then taken in by their killers. Gaslit and trained to become an unthinking murderer. A bit too on the nose to be tongue in cheek.
Stalin absolutely was a monster, like Andrew Jackson or Hitler. Definitely not someone to be lionized, praised or joked about.
People being the enemy of the government is natural as breathing. A government that turns its people into the enemy is unconscionable and should not stand.
I will say this about Conan though. He grew as a character, despite that.
