Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!
Rules:
- Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.
Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:

- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
That's all the rules!

I think we have learned that impeachment is pointless.
It's theoretically possible that an asteroid could hit a gathering of GOP senators shortly before the impeachment vote, skewing the demographics of the Senate enough to convict.
Don’t give me hope like that.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asteroid_Redirect_Mission
Wouldn't you be missing a quorum then?
AFAIK, the affected senators vacate their seats. A quorum is 50% + 1 of occupied seats. When an asteroid falls on 30 GOP senators, a quorum is 36 and a supermajority is 47, not 51 an 67.
I would rather see representatives bring articles of impeachment, even if it's hopeless, than sit there with their thumbs in their asses.
Impeachment only matters if they enforce it. They won't, even assuming it passes.
Seriously. It did nothing last time.
So you suggest doing what, specifically?
All of my suggestions tend to get me banned.
Probably because they're so helpful
So you've got nothing. Moving right along.
but impeachment is nothing.
The fundamental problem is the USA does not have serious laws to address corruption or gross incompetance in government.
Not gonna argue the point with ya. And all we're doing here is yapping, with nothing of substance to offer, right?
Well...y'all stayed home last election...soo...
Big on assumptions, I see. Not criticizing, some folks only exercise is jumping to conclusions.
lol you guys already tried this! And it did nothing! Like by all means apply pressure but don’t expect a different result, and then be bitchy to people who point that out.
Learning from mistakes is a bad thing to them.
Love your username.
Thank you.
Don't give up so easy. We all know how much it sucks to see this trash never face proper repercussions for their actions, but we can't just accept that or think not voting for slightly better people will do nothing.
We need to keep making incremental changes for the benefit of all of us and it takes time. Or I guess revolution, but that's not going to happen and we shouldn't count on it.
Revolution won’t happen with that attitude either. You don’t give up yourself friend. I’m going to keep voting for the least fucked up person, but I’m also not going to pretend it’s actually making a difference when I see whats going on.
