The size and scope of an election doesn't really affect the fact that you must vote (and run) strategically for FPTP to pick the best candidate if the race has more than two people running and it's not a landslide.

Well a lot of small elections don't even have 2 candidates.

Like city treasurer and positions like that for smaller cities.

Even for mayor sometimes. Alderman.

You can be an independent and win those a lot easier.

The meme we are discussing concerns the effect of a spoiler candidate, which is something that you can't have with fewer than three candidates.
