The original food pyramid was designed when starvation was a major concern, and so makes sense in that context.
The "my plate" was a fair adjustment that refocused on quality of food in a world of plenty.
I have no idea what a "upside down pyramid" is supposed to be.
The food plate can still suck my theoretical dick. It includes an entire portion for something 70% of the world can't digest.
Blame big dairy.
Relevant Climate Town video
Climate Town is the fucking best. Hilarious and informative as fuck.
It wasn't designed for the entire world? What % of Americans can process dairy? 95+%?
FTFY
The goal is to continue the ideological push towards overconsumption of animal products.
The food pyramid was adopted in the US in 1992.
I remember being taught about a food pyramid in a US health class at least a decade before.
Maybe your school had a time machine that took forward ten years to when it was adopted?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_USDA_nutrition_guidelines
Or maybe you were in a Swedish immersion school that taught the original Swedish version?
It must have been the basic food groups then, and at some point my memory of it merged with the food pyramid once it hit the US.
Bullshit. Before the food pyramid was the 4 food groups. I was in us public school before 1992 as well.
Basically, eat shit peasants. After swimming in it.
Its healthier more natural foods, meat, vegetables
Less focus on grains, rice, pasta etc
RFK is annidiot in a ton of ways
But he is right about diet
No he isn't... Why is meat more natural than rice? Also, grains and rice are literally parts of vegetables
It isnt more natural than rice.
But is more nutrient dense. And it is much more natural than pringles and rape seed oil.
And contains a lot more essential nutrients
Rapeseed oil and rice are effectively identical in terms of like, how much they are shaped and processed by human hands. Or say, oats, barely. Why are those good but canola seeds aren't?
"But he is right about diet"
They wrote unironically, about a man with a well-documented history of hosting a tapeworm that damaged parts of his brain, due to eating poorly sourced and poorly prepared pork.
road kill is natural. probably what the McRib is made of.
Yeah I'm not taking health advise from someone who is basically a walking naturalist fallacy. Arsenic is just as natural as fish if not moreso, doesn't mean we should be huffing it like ancient bronzesmiths.
grains and pasta are not natural? wtf
Indeed
You dont eat the grain straight off the plant
And pasta is basically just that processed grain with water added?
Try looking up processed foods
Refined flour acts exactly like sugar inside the body. It all turns into glucagon.
