FWIW, I'm signing a lease today on a place just for me and my endlessly-loving ESA —after several months of consecutive homelessness. ("van life", my ass) Even though it costs >50% of my current monthly pay (from whatever gig work I can piece together), it's not living in my car and it's hopefully a step toward stability...
Unless, of course, the world continues being, well, ahem... sweeps arm at horizon 😅🤢🫡🤷🏼♂️
Congratulations! I was in the same situation about a month ago (and in earlier times of my past 🙃) and would’ve still been there if my gf didn’t help me find a place. It’s a studio, in a good neighborhood of a bad city, and has a mouse I’m trying to catch, but at least it’s better than my car. I’m actually throwing a small “home-warming” party soon… being mindful to keep it small, as I do not have much space. 😅

I know its alot of your income, but you gotta take the W. its just a first step stranger. I've been homeless several times and getting the first place is always the hardest. It will get better, hang in there.
