the name root thing isn't quite correct. The root word connects to "sky god" and why Abrahamic religions are unique is because they are monotheistic in only having a sky god, whereas before the gods would've been of many things.

We also say "G/god" more than "deity" whose root is in "burial" rather than sky, and originally connotated a plurality of supernatural forces pre-Christianity, but came to mean a singular being during the spread of Christianity.
