i always wondered why jesus never used his god powers to get off the cross, but then i realized he's like a vampire, but instead of a stake through the heart it's nails through the hands
He never used his powers for his own benefit, neither for his material advantage nor to show off or get out of bad situations. He only used his power to help others. That's at least a more reasonable and in character reading than yours.
Oh, so he's like Gandalf.
