Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

This is just a lone wolf. Hell, there isn't even remotely a pattern of violence aimed at Confederate pundits. There is not even stochastic terrorism aimed at Confederates.

Who the fuck do these sister-fuckers even want vengeance on? We don't even know who the shooter is yet and there are no prominent figures on the left who are doing the stochastic terrorism thing (unlike much of the right).

For all we know, it's Charlie's jilted gay lover that shot him.

They just want violence against everyone who isn't them. Sometimes those who are too

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 87 points 1 day ago (1 children)

But apparently the truckloads of dead children are totally fine

[–] kurwa@lemmy.world 32 points 23 hours ago (3 children)

That's what Republicans love, whether it's dead children or raped children, it's their favorite!

[–] ronigami@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

and then they complain about birth rates

[–] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 9 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

unless the child isn't born yet!

[–] Sc00ter@lemmy.zip 4 points 14 hours ago

How else are they going to literally own them if they're never born?

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 10 points 23 hours ago

I bet some of them like the combination.

[–] Guidy@lemmy.world 12 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

They shot up a Sikh temple after 9/11. These aren’t smart people.

Attacks on Jews tripled in the days after 9/11. The hatred is the point.

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They don’t care. Anyone who revels in his death might as well have pulled the trigger, I guess.

Guilty 🤚

Your post here will be described as a manifesto by police too, which they will remove from internet before press conference so no one can check their bs.

Never keep a journal.

All the previous shooters have been disillusioned republicans. The guy they arrested is older and white so... We will see in the morning

[–] hector@lemmy.today 11 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

They released the guy in custody, shot came from a rooftop, dark clothing, is all they released. Cctv everywhere on campus.

[–] redsand@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 16 hours ago

Won't matter. Colleges are so huge with so many blind spots. If the shooter knew the area they're gone. Ironically the huge spy apparatus feeds to Utah but there probably weren't satellites or anything overhead they can use.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 30 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It’s not even the right guy. They let him go. They have no leads, apparently.

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 26 points 1 day ago

Time to do some police work. Let's see, who had motivation? Oh, like half the country? Jeez. Well what about opportunity? Oh, he was at a college, outdoors, surrounded by thousands of people, engaging in provoking "debate", and there was no real security set up? Yikes. And no credible witness accounts? Fuck. Well, send somebody over to the Altoona McDonald's and see if we can pin it on some Italian guy.

[–] redsand@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 16 hours ago

I'm seeing reports of someone on a roof in dark clothes but that's all they have

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 1 points 17 hours ago

Bring it. Most of these chuckle fucks aren't trained in gun safety while 2nd amendment Liberals are.
