Going to be that nerd.
These type of wealth disparities existing before capitalism. In ancient grand societies the wealth was controlled by a small elite almost always and class mobility was non-existent.
The issue isn't capitalism, it's just that the history of our specifies across various society tends to ebb and flow in various directions in response to historical events and contexts. Go read Piketty's work on this.
"Bad things existed before, so we should not criticize them still existing today" is not a very strong argument.
Putting words into people's mouths is a weaker argument yet.
