You don't need an ID to buy groceries, but you better have an ID to walk to the grocery store. Otherwise, folks with no ID whatsoever will kidnap you without due process.

I vaguely remember as a kid my parents being asked to show their ID at the grocery store when paying with a credit card. I think they were checking that the names matched.
Yeah, there was a time you would verify the cards weren't stolen. But that was usually store policies.
It was always a business policy, not a government one like the requirements for buying liquor or cigarettes.
Wait is that where Trump is pulling the grocery ID shit from, I kinda remember that being a thing for cards but I knew it was just for cards. Did his stupidity and/or dementia fuck up that concept so he now thinks you need an ID for the grocer.
Who knows where he got it from. He's never bought his own groceries.
Sure but he does consume media, presumably he saw a show where they did a credit card check or some shit.
He said the same thing in Season 1.
He must have seen the response to it then so he forgot.
Back then, where you normally would sign on a credit card, many many people would write "see picture id" instead.
Honestly, if 1 of 50 checkout people asked for a picture id, i would be surprised. No one cared then either.

Yes and that McDonald's should of had the store immediately closed due to health code violations. That so stupid and fucking gross. I swear I wish I could figure out how anyone could vote for him, or think he is great.

If you ever get one from him be sure to fire up the bank app and deposit it before he leaves. Or only take cash, but wash it first because it's probably covered in blow and underage child DNA.
Personal checks can still bounce after being deposited.
I would demand a cashier's check.
Money being covered in blow is extremely common, you'll be fine.
I'd go so far as to say that if your money isn't covered in blow, there's probably a decent chance it's counterfeit.
I wouldn't accept one of his checks even with an I.D.

Pretty sure he said that in season 1 too. I would say these writers need some original content but so far what they've done for season 2 has been even worse

A) I don't need an ID for gas or groceries; B) Buying gas and groceries aren't Constitutional Rights.
C) Access to food and transportation are fundamental human rights.
I'd be with you for food, but I would say the fundamental human right to transportation doesn't extend beyond feet.
I think people should have a right to transportation of some kind, like a bus pass, but being able to drive yourself isn't a fundamental right. A lot of people are driving that shouldn't be
"Gas" != transportation. Ride a fucking bike!
Great solution for a small part of the US population. The country is designed around car transport, it's a dead end forced on us long ago. Few cities have (and can have) adequate mass transit that serves even a fraction of the area. I'm anti-car too, but also realize that it's how things work for most people. So yes, fuel or transportation infrastructure is a right as long as people have to get around to survive.
Voting isn't a constitutional right either, we haven't been able to get them to codify it yet.

Yeah the only thing in the past 15 years that you use an ID to purchase at a grocery/gass station is alcohol, which he supposedly doesn't drink.
