Boy, he just gets to do whatever he wants, doesn't he?

Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:

- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
That's all the rules!

We all could drag everything through every court over and over until our victims are overwhelmed to the breaking point and give up if [people believed] we had the money to do it.
Now he doesn't even need money. He has the power of the US government to do it instead, all three branches, and the fourth estate. Other fascists are taking note and copycatting this style: do literally whatever you want, tie it up in the courts until you win, or if you somehow reach the end of that road without winning, ignore any consequences and start over from the beginning.
The third box has failed to secure liberty. Even if it inexplicably ends up securing liberty again, its Achilles' heel has been exposed. Like a 32-bit encryption key, it "works", but only if everyone agrees not to hack it. Anyone who doesn't can get away with literal murder.
The Supreme Court simply exists to legitimize his power these days.
Mitch McConnell engineered a takeover of the country while leftists fought with each other about Harris and Clinton being left enough for them.
This is the fundamental issue with civilization. Good faith power must get power, hold power, and actually successfully govern; bad faith power is free to devote all of their resources to the first two. Evil will always be more nimble and more unfettered.
I take almost no comfort in the inevitability of good prevailing. Selfishly, mostly because I don't have that kind of time. On a cosmic scale, none of this matters. A rock in space is not evil, and once we're obliterated either by devices of our own making or the march of entropy, the universe will be neither good nor bad. Bad only loses due to the mortality of man, but once bad is finally "defeated" there will be no one left to appreciate it.
Meh. I'll be in a different dimension by then....
Correct, but remember the very old saying that good prevails over evil. It always has and always will, even in times when it's hard to believe so.
I thought the old saying was that evil will always triumph over good because good is dumb.
Lol, good looks dumb cuz he dresses like a nerd, but he's quietly a genius.
wut?
historically evil always wins
even batman plays with the idea
Musical chairs rules dictates that once the last bit of life in the universe is inevitably blotted out, all that will be left is morally inert, inanimate matter, and therefore evil will not exist for millions of years. It's winning the battle but losing the war on the grandest scale.
yea you all stop existing the moment I do
no one is making to the heat death of the universe
Are you saying batman always loses?
It’s what kings do.
With nobody to stop him…
American Tax Dollars at work!
Just laser-focused on making life better for the American people, isn't he?
