because their meals are like 1/2 of the size of a USA meal.

A restaurant meal in america is like 1500-2000 calories. in france it's like 1000.

Everyone here is acting surprised at the size, or pretending that somehow, the ice makes it okay.

Y'all. Own your shit. These look normal to me, and I totally skip out on the ice most all of the time. I usually finish a 16oz before I'm done with my meal.
