Well Mikey Johnson didn’t get Trump’s permission for an emergency session, so no.
Some reporter is gonna ask Mike Johnson on Monday if he saw that the US attacked Venezuela and he's gonna say he doesn't know.
If only reporters had balls: "You haven't heard about X giant thing the president did? Doesn't that make you dogshit at your job?"
The only people with access are those that handle republicans with the softest tiny baby hands possible.
What's the rush? Strongly worded letters take time to write.

The US is so fucking fucked. The Dems are gonna find a way to lose the primaries or surrender to Trump's attempts to steal them.
We've seen nothing from these assholes in the times of greatest crisis.
It's not an emergency, that's why.

The Democrats and DOJ have been doing a Sudetenland with Trump for since halfway through his first fucking term, through the Biden admin, and now. Just let him and his movement do and take what they want in hopes that they’ll calm down if they get what they want so everything can get back to business as usual. It's the Republicans' job to do fascism. It's the Democrats' job to lose elections and offer minimal resistance against the Republicans' agenda. This is what they've been paid to do; the Republicans started with Reagan, the Democrats started with Clinton.
Since then, it's become not only legal, but incentivized, for them to represent corporate interests over voters' interests.

Any war powers resolution passed by the Senate would need to be approved by the House and signed by Trump to have the force of law.
The president is expected to veto any resolution to restrict his power as commander in chief and there are not enough votes in either chamber to override such an action.
While they should be doing anything they can to stop this shit, this whole vote is purely symbolic. Unless they can get support from the house and a supermajority in the senate, no standalone bill will do anything.
The only real leverage they have is a potential government shut down at the end of the month. Given how unpopular a repeat of Iraq and Afghanistan would be, I want to say that it should be fairly easy to find bipartisan support for a deal that would pull any forces out of Venezuala and potentially put some road blocks in place to dissuade further military interventions. You'd just need some competent leadership and a little bit of backbone.

So sad that we only need a HANDFUL of decent, non-trash Republicans yet can never seem to find them.
