Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

Obviously "Cats"

Edit; if there was a "Crabs" musical then that one.

[–] CPMSP@midwest.social 1 points 3 months ago

Repo! The Genetic Opera

How does this body work? Will I suddenly by gorgeous, or will a really sexy body be shoved in my trunk?

I love this interpretation. The rest of your life is a musical about trying to hide the body from authorities.

I have music playing in my head all the time anyway so smash that button.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Fuck... i don't hate musicals but that would get real damn obnoxious fast...

[–] lauha@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago

You would love it, like they always do in the musicals.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 17 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I love music and could't live without it. But I hate musicals, probably because I can't be arsed listening to the lyrics. (Or rather, reading lyrics because thanks to having English as the second language I can't tell what people are singing most of the time.)

So, it ends in a few hours?

Last song of the day, stop me if you heard this one before: it's time for the

Impromptu Masturbation Rap Interlewd (featuring my Wiener as the scraper block)

[–] hayvan@piefed.world 13 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I'm not too big on musicals, so it'd get very old very fast. I wouldn't take it because it'd just be too annoying.

Me, who is trans and loves musicals: YES YES YES YES YES YES

[–] Anivia@feddit.org 10 points 3 months ago

I hate musicals and already have close to my perfect body 😁

[–] tkk13909@sopuli.xyz 9 points 3 months ago

If it can have any genre of music I want then absolutely yes!

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I feel like many trans folk would gladly take the offer, lol. I'm alright, the only musical I've ever liked is La Cage Aux Folles. 😅

[–] morto@piefed.social 7 points 3 months ago

BRACE YOURSELVES FOR THE CRAB MUSICAL!

[–] traceur201@piefed.social 7 points 3 months ago

I think I could handle about one bursting into song daily, more than that would get tiresome

[–] GalacticSushi@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 3 months ago

Is it written by Charlie Day, a la The Nightman Cometh and The Gang Turns Black? If so I'm in.

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Fuck yeah I'm hitting that button

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 3 months ago

that sounds fun-

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 5 points 3 months ago

My ideal body? How ideal are we talking here?

If I can get that second dong I've always wanted, get ready for a wild cover of If You've Got It, Flaunt It!

[–] Bazell@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 months ago

It depends on how good people will sing around me.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 months ago

If this means that I can be involved in a West Side Story like gang fight, then I'm in. Finger-Snap, Finger-Snap, Finger-Snap then shuffle, kick and twirl.

[–] Rozauhtuno@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 months ago

Smash button.
