Because we do not have enough accountability in our democracy. Lower the contribution limits and implement pr.
Because the Liberal party is full of obvious liars? And we’ve known for a long time? And we’re stupid as hell and they’re pretty confident we won’t do anything to hold them accountable.
Hard to believe the (viable) alternative is worse.
Protip: even in our shitty system, if we all vote for the NDP they’ll win. And if we accept that we don’t always get everything we want right away we will understand that it’s us not voting for them that keeps making us say “well no one votes for them so they won’t win” every election. Also also, in 2021 they got more than half the votes of the Liberals so there IS plenty of support out there.
If we keep voting for liars and thieves then that’s exactly what we’re gunna get. We deserve this, but we can also change it.
I'm not convinced the NDP are going to be able to navigate this, and I say this as a past NDP voter.
Carney has skills and experience in exactly the fields and jobs suitable for where we find ourselves right now. Frankly, I trust him over the opinions of a random internet stranger. And, without knowing anything, I expect that our best strategy is to slow play all of this as much as possible, so he's going to get a lot of leeway from me on economic and foreign policy even though my response would be far more emotional and extreme. Since I know nothing and have no access to information, this is why I'm glad I'm not running things... And why I'm glad you're not either.
Really? Skills and experience to do what? Sell off our national resources to private companies? Cut more money out of the 99%’s bank accounts? Talk big game about going against Trump and then suck up to him? Try to intimidate striking airline workers by ordering them back to work and thereby declaring their strike to be illegal?
Fuck Carney, and fuck the economic illiteracy of anyone who thinks what he’s doing is actually good for us.
You seem to have the kind of brainrot that believes that a weak response is “clever” and a strong, committed response is “extreme”. Well guess what, sometime you have to actually fucking do something or the effort you do put in will be entirely wasted. Extreme would be ordering all billionaires killed, all we’re asking for is stuff like taxes for the rich and not participating in anti-union actions. If that’s extreme then fuck running the country, I wouldn’t even want you in charge of making a bowl of cereal.
I'm ready to sacrifice and fight for this country. I was in the reserves and I'm reapplying even though I'm nearly at the age cap. What are you doing? You seem to be itching for war and the fracture of the country. I'm going to be pragmatic about this instead...I've gone through my beliefs on all of it many times, and still go in and out of righteous anger, but I temper it against reason.
Unfortunately for you, I'm not part of the left that thinks we need to burn the whole thing down, and thankfully for me, my beliefs align with the majority.
I'm fairly certain I know far more about these topics than you do, but no I'm not willing to discuss them with you. I see where you're coming from. Cheers!

Your question was rhetorical and I already explained that he is skilled and experienced in the exact fields required to navigate an economic war. But clearly I need to be specific for you, so economics, banking and actually running two national banks.
I assume you will not fight, and you will not even contribute, but instead sit back and complain about things you don't understand. Just try not to get in the way of the people who are fighting and who are contributing.

You don't know anything about me, or what I believe. In particular you have no reason to think you have any insight into my psychology, or my family, or my past.
You might be surprised to discover we share beliefs about wealth inequality and the necessity of unions. But that doesn't mean I think the NDP is the right party right now.

Carney is a preposterously right wing person. I can't believe I thought he would be good. PP is a sack of shit, but Banker Carney is nothing but a complete shill for corporations and just to strip Canada for parts without merging with the US directly. All the bills he is trying to pass will share information on all Canadians with the United States and effectively ruin all privacy online and offline.
