This is a positive action, but never forget that PostMedia owned by American right-wing Trump supporters.

They suspended him because he was caught, not because what he said bothered them.

Yup. Had the online backlash not been what it was Post Media would have done nothing. And they'll just silently re-instate him once the energy dies down.

Is caught the right word when you do something so openly public?

I feel like he exposed his true nature might be better? They want to keep it hidden.

Yeah, replace "caught" with "called out" I guess. It doesn't change the fact that the exposure is what triggered them, not the moral indignation.

Ah the one international constant, "The Sun" newspaper is Shit

[–] grte@lemmy.ca 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Don't look at the sun is advice that applies more broadly than just the celestial object.

I mean in chicago the sun times was the better paper (content wise. the tribune was larger with more comics)

[–] engene@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Most of my right wing colleagues read the Sun. It’s probably why I don’t 😏

I initially read that as "Paramilitary Bureau Chief".
