The Middle is such a good song.

God I love that song. I know nothing about the band, haven’t listened to their other stuff, but every time that song comes on the volume goes up, I start singing and tear up a little..

Oh man, that entire album is great.

It was only last year I actually learned the real lyrics to the song. I could never quite understand the lyrics by listening until I looked them up. Great message in there about being yourself and not giving a fuck about what haters think or say. πŸ˜ƒ

I always figured it was something along those lines.

iirc it was written for a young fan who was getting bullied in school

I saw them live in 2004 at the Warped Tour.

Oh cool, Warped Tour '04 was my first concert! Best day of my life, honestly.

If that tour was a porn star she'd be in MILF porn now.

Also don't release an album titled "bleed American" the day before 9/11.

How about a live album of a concert in NYC that featured the twin towers on fire that was released on 9/11

I found the album a few weeks later in stores, even after they pulled it. Solid.

Throwing DT in the mix seems like cheating.

That "Live scenes from New York" really sells it.

Man, I can't imagine their reaction.

Before release: "Man, thisnalbum cover is sick dude, what a statement"

Then release day: "Oh yeah, big day.... oh yeaj, city on fire man! Wait what? What do you mean actually burning?"

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago

Oof I'm a big Dream Theater fan and never knew that. Poor timing for sure.

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Bit hard to pull that one off. Unless 9/11 were an inside job and the White House was informing the music industry.

[–] Kellenved@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Real shit: there’s a conspiracy theory Milo Rossi debunked about the supertramp album breakfast in america predicting 9/11

How about an album called "God hates us all" on 9/11?

I will stick with my bandname for kids parties, Cool Under Northern Thunder, thank you very much.

You gotta get yourself one of these shirts

Its a parady of the Northern Territories advertising campaign that blew way up and has outlasted the government's efforts

I laughed out loud when I finally realized what band was saying this.

Humorously, the lead singer is named Jim (Adkins), but the band’s name comes from the backing vocalist/guitarist Tom’s brother, also named Jim.

The band's name came from a crayon drawing made after an incident between [Tom] Linton's younger brothers, Jim and Ed Linton, who fought frequently. Jim usually won, but Ed sought revenge by drawing a picture of Jim shoving the Earth into his mouth; Ed captioned the picture "Jimmy eat world".

From an official account too. I fear people are not caring about how effectively they communicate anymore.
