I turned off all sounds on my microwave and surprisingly it's really disorienting. Not having the aural feedback on the buttons pissed off everyone.

Who is the actor and why do I recognize him?!?
My current one insists on beeping exactly 3 times whether I open the door or not. Fucking annoying. 30 y/o one at my dad's doesn't and it makes it a 1000x better device
Make sure you're interrupting it by hitting cancel, as it releases a burst of radiation if you just open the door. Not sure if it would have any health effects, but you need to hit cancel to clear the remaining time anyways.
My cancel button doesn't clear the time, it's exclusively a stop. Reset button is on the numbers section for some reason..
You can mute the microwave. Most microwaves have volume settings.
This is not prudent. Microwaves generate microwaves. The reason they beep that way, is theres a countdown timer to make sure it is safe to open the door. Obviously the dangers are not very high otherwise they would always lock, but if you will notice, there is also a lock feature.
So, it is more health conscious to way for all the beeps.
Also, the holes in the window are there, rather than full open glass, because microwaves are bigger than the holes, so they dont pass through.
This is the extent of my microwave knowledge.
